Bicycle Safety Mini-Grant

The Pennsylvania Department of Health, through Safe Kids Pennsylvania, will make available mini-grants ranging from $1,000 - $5,000 to any organization throughout the state during 2008-2009 , for projects designed to increase bicycle safety and reduce bicycle-related injuries.  The primary target audience will be children and youth ages 5-18 with a secondary focus on adults. 

To be considered for a mini-grant, four (4) copies of the application must be postmarked by Thursday, June 19, 2008.  Please send all application materials to:

2008-2009 Safe Kids Mini-Grants

The Pennsylvania Department of Health, through Safe Kids Pennsylvania, has available Mini-Grants to any Safe Kids Coalition / Chapter for the 2008-2009 grant period. Please notice the guidelines and application process has changed format for this upcoming grant year.  Due to additional changes, New Prevention Mini-Grants will no longer be offered.  Two copies of the application must be submitted by June 19, 2008 to:

Safe Kids Mini-grants are available in the following two categories:
(Note: You may select one mini-grant from each of the two categories listed)

  1. Bicycle Helmets or Smoke Alarms Mini-Grant* (150 bicycle helmets or 100 smoke alarms)
  2. Car Seats or Portable Cribs Mini-Grant* (20 car seats or 20 portable cribs)

Note: Each Chapter/Coalition is eligible for only one choice in each of the above Mini-Grant categories.

Available Grants for new Safe Kids Chapters:

  1. Start Up Mini-Grant ($500.00 per Chapter)
    • New chapters who have not received this mini-grant yet should contact Kristen Urso.
